Cut Costs Now

Sunday, July 11th, 2010

Many Americans understand that government spending that is out of control. One of the largest expenses each year is the military budget. There are numerous opportunities to relocate our armed forces from non-combat locations. We still have tens of thousands of troops located in places like England, Japan, Germany, Spain, Italy and many more. I ask why? Are we afraid that Europe or Japan will be invaded? Let’s place these troops on our borders and ports.

Let’s also thin the ranks. Those who have already served 20 years and have not achieved the rank of E-8 or Lt. Col. and above should be forced to retire. If you are convicted of drug or alcohol abuse two or more time should also be terminated.

Let’s keep this country safe first and foremost. Europe and Asia have relied upon us for too long. It’s time to secure ALL of the United States from ANY undocumented person regardless of race.

It’s Time To Consider Impeachment Of President Obama

Thursday, July 1st, 2010

By Ken Bear Cole

President Obama took an oath to defend this nation. He is allowing foreigners to enter into this country illegally, from our southern border with Mexico. Many of those entering into the United States are doing so looking for better income to send back to their home of origin. They are forced to transport drugs into this country and many times held hostage until additional funds are paid to their transporters. These are not bad people, but they are being controlled by criminal drug cartels in Mexico.

Phoenix Arizona has become the second highest kidnapping state in the world. They are Number one in this country. The President is allowing modern day slavery, rape and at times, torture of these immigrants. THIS MUST STOP!!! I know that this problem has existed for decades and previous Presidents should have been impeached for allowing the borders to go unchecked. This is not a Republican or Demarcate problem. It is a threat to the safety for our citizens. I have seen the warning signs posted on the San Diego Freeway indicating that families may be running across the road.

We have been invaded by foreigners who are ravaging our government resources and taking entry level jobs, which were previously filled by younger American workers.

The President should be given 30 days to protect the border or face impeachment proceedings.

Arizona Asked For 6,000 Troups

Tuesday, May 25th, 2010

Well, our Commander-In-Chief isn’t sending 6,000 troups to guard our southern US border. He is only comitting 1,200. Maybe it would help if he actually read the new Arizona Law or decided to enforce the current Federal statute, which was established in 1940. I guess he is too busy trying to convince congress to spend more money we don’t have.

We need to bring out troups home from all over the world and protect ALL of our ports and borders. Mr. President, you were right. We can not allow 4 more years of Fromer President Bush’s policies. Please do your job and protect this country!

Fed Up With Party Politics?

Thursday, May 20th, 2010

Many Americans are becoming fed up with political party loyalty. They are endorsing individuals rather then blindly voting for a particular party candidate. If you find yourself in this growing category, you maybe attending Tea Party rallies, consider yourself an Independent or Libertarian. Examine your own thinking as you read the remainder of this article.

You Might Be A Libertarian If:

  • You believe in individual rights and the responsibility for your own actions.

You can choose to live in a neighborhood controlled by a homeowners association, which determines the height of your grass and color of your house, but you should also be able to decide to not live in such a neighborhood.

  • You believe our government should pass and enforce laws to protect us from ciaos.

We need traffic codes to make sure we all drive on the same side of the road, but the government has no right to determine the color of our cars. We need public safety without micro management.

  • You believe in freedom of thought.

It’s not wrong to be different, but it is wrong to demand that every adult conform to your opinions.

  • You believe you have the right to protect your property from trespassers.

Fencing, alarms and even animals should be allowed, so long as they do not harm those outside of your property. Claymore mines and lazier guided weapons are over the top.

Maybe Libertarians are not strange little people demanding the repeal of all laws. Maybe they just want the right to be left alone, to live their lives as they choose without harming others. Who knows, you may see a Libertarian in the mirror.

Rebuild Oregon endorses no one for Multnomah County Chair

Friday, May 7th, 2010

Rebuild Oregon and the City of Fairview invited candidates running for Multnomah County Chair (Mike Darger, Jeff Cogan and Wes Soderback) to face tough questions from the community.  For unknown reasons, Mike Darger was unable to attend the event–even though he confirmed his participation.

The situation would have been easy enough to resolve by Rebuild Oregon endorsing one of the candidates in attendance; however, Mike received more votes in our online poll.  Rather than giving our endorsement to the candidate who received the second most number of votes, the Rebuild Oregon members in attendance last night felt our organization should with hold our endorsement for this position.

If You Like More Taxes, Vote Democrat

Wednesday, April 28th, 2010

It is very clear that both Republican and Democratic candidates for Governer are planning to cut things. The Republicans want to reduce spending and the Democrats are looking to cut tax breaks for both businesses and private citizens. Yes they want you to pay more. Both Bradbury and Kitzhaber feel that the state needs to find more ways to raise revenue. Neither candidate mentioned anything about reducing spending during tonight’s debate.

Regarding the State Retirement Program PERES, Bill Bradbury said we just need to be patient for about 20 years until the majority of the first tier precipitants pass and then PERES will be fine. I think he forgot to mention that the system is not fully funded and will bankrupt Oregon in the mean time.

Both candidates emphasized Green Jobs. Wind for the western portion of the state and solar energy for our eastern deserts. But will that also translate into enough employment to get Oregonians back to work? We probably need more, especially since they both want to raise more tax revenues without cutting expenses.

I believe if we continue on this course of spend, spend, spend, moving companies will make record profits as people leave the state.

Politics – A Dirty Job

Tuesday, April 27th, 2010

Each election year voters are wooed by promises of making things better in government. Most of us are disappointed by the replacements we elect. It seems things continue as before, so we wait until the next group attempts to persuade us with their hollow promises.

I propose that the problem is the system. Politicians are exposed for too long to the corruption of power. Simply changing the oil on your car will not rectify a flat tire. Until we address the actual problem, we will receive the same results. Even a small deviation from your course will lead you far from your destination over time. So let’s reduce the time ANY politician can spend in office! Yes, I am proposing making EVERYONE leave office after 10 or 12 years. This will limit the level of temptation. Since they are there to SERVE the people, they will also not receive a retirement plan. Thus saving taxpayers Billions of dollars.

Now the chances of having such legislation passed any group of politicians is slim to none! So we need to force this action through the referendum process. I do not have the skill, knowledge or energy to complete such an act, but I know many of our readers can do this. Please take up this cause to restore our State and Nation.

Rebuild Oregon backs Allen Alley for Governor in May Primary

Monday, April 26th, 2010

Allen Alley - Running for Governor for OregonOregon is fortunate to have many fine candidates running for Governor, the top three in the Republican Primary are Allen Alley, Chris Dudley and Senator John Lim.

John Lim, veteran legislator from Gresham, is an impressive gentleman from both a personal and business standpoint and received very high marks from our board and members in his presentation. Oregonians should be both thankful and proud for what John has accomplished in both the private and public sectors.

Chris Dudley, political rookie and former Trailblazer, is proven in his ability to raise funds and has brought a fresh face to the gubernatorial campaign. We feel that Chris could be a very positive addition to the Republican Party in the future and we look forward to his continued involvement and growth in Oregon politics.

Allen Alley has earned the endorsement of Rebuild Oregon by showing the willingness to face all groups and candidates. Alley has addressed the major issues facing Oregon and has made his feelings and plans clear. Alley has literally walked the State, speaking to the people and listening to the difficulties facing Oregonians. Alley has made it clear that he believes that government needs to put a stop to passing legislation or increasing taxes and fees without examination of options and a clear understanding of the effects. Oregon is facing tough decisions from PERS reform to public safety and job growth to name just a few. We believe that the combination of his extensive private sector success and his public service time spent in Salem will provide a winning combination to get Oregon back on the path to private sector job growth and prosperity.

( Rebuild Oregon is comprised of concerned conservative Oregonians and Small Business Owners who seek a return of SANITY to Salem–  we are working to influence a positive change in the future of Oregon www.rebuildoregon.com)

Allen Alley

Friday, March 26th, 2010

Allen Alley Candidate For Oregon Governor, spoke at our last meeting. He has an extensive background in building businesses and engineering. His last venture started with 4 friends and $10,000. He converted that into a business, which later did $1 Billions in sales. That is success. I found him to be a breath of fresh air. As he approached government issues from a business standpoint of attempting to reduce costs and increase revenue, while still providing quality services.

Allen is not a political novice. He worked as deputy chief of staff in the Governor’s office in 2007. He understands how the system works and how to get legislation introduced and passed without prostituting and victimizing Oregon citizens.

Mr. Alley had some great ideas for capitalizing on the uniqueness of our natural resources without damaging the environment. He can identify and appeal to a wide variety of our citizens and interest groups.

Rebuild Oregon has decided to not endorse any candidate until after the primary, but this writer hopes Allen Alley will still be in the running come June. But don’t take my opinion. Visit his website: http://www.allenalley.com and make your own decision. I encourage everyone to do the same with all of the candidates.
